Let's say you know the name of a police department. Let's say it's "Fred's Police Department." You could say, "Yo, Fred... I know a BigDealGuy who has this camera and he takes mug shots." And then the Fred's Police Department could ask, "Does this kid have a portfolio?" And then you could say, "Why, yes, he certainly does.
